PayPal’s Threat to us to remove all traces of CBD. This threat is sent to us as vendors, however, it is also a damning indictment to users of CBD who use the PayPal platform to pay for their CBD.
Why ?
This is probably a question best asked by you…the PayPal customer.
Unfortunately we have been threatened by PayPal to remove all CBD products from our website as they have sent us the following warning:

We have recently reviewed your PayPal account activity and determined that
you are in violation of PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy regarding your sales
or offers of CBD product on www.bestecig.ie .
As a result, your account has been limited temporarily.
To help us resolve this, you will need to:

In order to comply with our Acceptable Use Policy and return your account to good standing, you will need to:
– Remove those items from bestvape.ie that violate PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy. Please remove all products which contains CBD.
We have explained that our CBD products are 100% legal. Our product has been legally exported from Spain through Spanish customs and legally imported through Irish customs with documentation and certificates to prove all this and the product is legal in EU and USA.
Throughout all the explaining we have done and all the information we have offered, PayPal are still insistent with their demands to remove all trace of CBD from our website. We asked for a pacific reason as to why CBD is in violation of PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy but they refused to give an answer and continued to state it was simply in violation. We of course Googled this and found that PayPal are doing this to everybody selling CBD.
PayPal are refusing to allow us to sell CBD. They have not and will not give us a specific reason to explain why CBD is causing this violation but suffice to say they have threatened us and froze our account. The only thing they would state was:
Under the Acceptable Use Policy, PayPal may not be used in the purchase or
sale of narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances, products that
present a risk to consumer safety or drug paraphernalia. PayPal makes such
decisions after reviewing laws, regulations and other actions by
governmental agencies, other available information, and marketing content
related to the product.
So, it is not only us who is being put out here…it is really all our PayPal customers who use their own PayPal account ….using their own money (NOT PayPals money) to purchase a 100% legal CBD product for their own use. It seems PayPal are labeling its own customers as undesirables who purchase CBD and to that effect, they are stopping their own customers using their platform to purchase CBD. For it is PayPal (not us) who is stating that you, as a PayPal customer is engaging in ………..the purchase of narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances, products that present a risk to consumer safety or drug paraphernalia by the act of using your PayPal account to purchase CBD. WOW!
What has the world come to when a simple herb like hemp, which has medicinal properties (without any Pharma drug involved) which has been scientifically proven to relieve pain and seizures (among the countless other benefits…supported by many many respected medical journals throughout the world) is being forced OFF the market. Hmmmm, did I mention without Big Pharma…Is this the smoking gun ? me thinks so…).
Edit: After further investigation, it seems it is the ‘banks’ who still fear CBD. I still don’t trust Big Pharma tho to not have their fingers in the pie somewhere (so no apology coming there anytime soon lol)…but until ‘all’ the Banks and PayPal come into the 21st Century, it seems we are still at the behest of the powers that be.
Edit: (Nov 2019). It now seems that Big Pharma have entered the CBD arena. (I had a gut feeling they were hiding in there somewhere). Apparently they have tested and produced a new product which contains CBD. Because they have went through the 4 year testing cycle and stages…they have patented their CBD product. Of course now Pharma are not allowing anyone else to put ‘CBD’ on their product (Label) cause they have a product which been tested 4 years and went through the cycles. Hmmm, Big Pharma are now stopping everyone putting CBD on the label. Only Pharma can do it. There is no ‘drug’ in CBD folks but Big Pharma are still gonna try take it all for themselves and stop anyone else selling it. Of course that means no competition and CBD prices can be expected to rise should the foreseeable arise. We’ll see eh.
